Exterior paint fails early for one reason more than any other: it went on over a surface that wasn’t ready. We start every job with a full power wash to strip years of dirt, pollen and road salt off siding, brick and trim — paint won’t bond properly over any of that, no matter how good the paint is.
From there we scrape back any loose or peeling paint, sand the rough edges smooth, replace caulking that’s cracked or pulled away around windows and trim, and prime any bare wood or repaired stucco. Only then do two coats go on — sprayed and back-rolled on large siding runs, brushed by hand on trim, doors and detail work.
Just as important as the prep is the timing. We won’t paint before rain, in high humidity, or once overnight temperatures drop toward frost — doing so is the fastest way to get a finish that bubbles or peels within a year. We work homes and small commercial buildings on the same standard.
